FRED Ssimbwa Kaggwa sponsor of Henry Kaggwa Memorial Cup in Nakifuma county has rescued residents of Buyuki and Wabuyinja in Kasawo sub-county who had lost hope of getting clean water.

Residents in the area have taken six months without this source of water, instead sharing ponds with animals. Speaking while at Buyuki Church of Uganda, Ssimwa said that he had come for talent identification in football but you can’t have a good player without good water. Kaggwa contributed over one million shillings for maintenance of the two boreholes.

Ssimbwa is sponsoring a three-year rotational football tournament through the six sub-counties of Nakifuma constituency, namely Nabbaale, Kasawo, Namuganga, Nagojje, Ntunda and Kimenyedde. Kaggwa intends to compete with encumbate Robert Kafeero Ssekitoleko and CBS’s Patrico Mujjuuka for Nakifuma’s MP seat.

“I will make a follow-up of the maintenance works before embarking on Namuganga sub-county next week,” he added. He later gave a set of jerseys to Nongo FC. This tournament runs for six months in every sub-county.
