There was drama on Tuesday in Buvuma district when islanders turned against their Mps, Mr. Robert Migadde and woman Mp Ms. Janefer Natume Egunyu who had turned up for a consultative meeting over the ongoing constitution amendment on article 102 b
Angry residents of Busamuzi subcounty were forced to tear posters supporting Gikwateko that Ms. Nantume had travelled with to the venue claiming that these MPs had already betrayed them in search for cheap popularity before the president.

They warned the Mps of what is ahead of them, come the next elections saying that, that these are likely to lose their constituencies if they don’t respect the voice of their electorate on the age limit cap removal.

The legislators who both came to parliament as NRM flag bearers were strongly warned not to tamper with the age limit article less they face it rough on ground.

“We are the ones who sent you to parliament and if you dear support the change of the constitution then you will be dead and never step back this way,” the voters shouted.
The voters who were speaking with anger said that they have other issues making them suffer than basing on the age limit removal, they say they should instead improve on health and education facilities in their district since the performance is not always good there.

”There is no clear reason for changing the constitution. The reasons given are weak to make us believe they are not to benefit individuals and we have educated our children whom if given a chance can transform our nation than basing on aging people,” angry voters said.

Responding to the claims, the area MP Robert Migadde Ndugwa said that this is the only chance the islanders have to make their contribution towards the controversial motion.
The District woman MP Janefer Nantume Egunyu said that they are going to move the many islands making Buvuma district to have stand of the majority on the matter that they are going to present before parliament.
